Brandon Miles, the Assistant Manager at the Head Office depot in Swansea, has completed the Hire Industry Apprentice HDO Programme.

The qualification, which is issued in conjunction with both the
Construction Industry Training Board’s (CITB) Hire Train programme and the Hire Association of Europe (HAE), covers a wide range of hire-industry standards and is a benchmark by which companies can set their standards.

With a keen focus on Health & Safety, Brandon was part of the first ever group to undertake the qualifications in Wales, and he already sees the benefits. Brandon commented, “The 5-month training was very intensive but has given me a clear understanding of the safe working practices and industry standards which I am looking forward to working to”.

As proud members of the HAE, the opportunity to undertake the inaugural training course in Wales was one they didn’t want to miss. Director of Miles Hire Darren Miles commented: “We pride ourselves on our approach to health and safety and training, however, continuing to develop and re-enforce the skills of our staff is an integral part of our business strategy”.
